Grilled cheese sandwich with a french twist
I acutally saw this on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, but I’ll most a more simpler version here which I make all the time. It’s delicious! And it’s very easy to make aswell. This recipe is for two sandwiches or something around that. Here is what you will need:
Shopping-list!
Dijon Mustard
Cheese - just regular, shredded
Horseradish - in paste form
Mayoneese
Tomatoes - sliced
Ham - optional
Bread - in loaves, preferably fresh
Olive oil
I make everything with eye-measuring, just so you know. So there will not be any spesific measuring of things. Trust your insticts. Take a bowl and add the cheese, shredded. Somewhat around a handfull of it. Then add mayoneese, preferably only enough to make the cheese and mayo like a thick paste. You’ll know how much. Not too much and not too little. Add a “dash” of the horseradish, but not too much. It’s strong stuff. And then finally, but not least, about one or two spoons of dijon mustard. Start blending it all together. Get two loaves of bread and put a good (but not too much) portion of the cheese pase ontop of each loaf. Then add one or two slices of tomatoes on each loaf. Optionally you could put some ham on there too before the tomato, but I usually do it without (on Fab5 they did it with). Anyway, put another two loaves on top of the other two. Heat a pan and let it get real warm. Add some ovlive oil to the pan (optionally you could put some on both sides of the sandwich if you want) and then “grill” the sandwich. Turn on both sides, but be carefull. From golden to black doesn’t take much time, so be by the pan at all time. When done, enjoy!
I guess you could also do this on a real grill in the summertime. If you put some oil on the bread before grilling it. Del.icio.us!
