I finished this game yesterday, and I have just one thing to say; GENIUS! Valve has done it again! It’s a new type of FPS, only that the game is based on puzzle solving than killing. You go around in this lab solving puzzles while this computer guides you. This game is worth buying only to hear what this computer has to say. She’s hilarious. You got to hear it! Only downside is that the game is a bit short.

Anyway, it was a great game, which I’m glad I played. And don’t be fooled at the fires. You can get this game in the Orange Box by Valve on PC or XBOX360. Buy it! It’s worth it!

26th October 2007

This day was crazy for me. I wake up early to take an early train to the capitol. Why, you ask? On this fine day the Play! A Game Symphony took place at the largest consumer electronic show in
the Nordic countries, held nearby the capitol. The concert didn’t start before about 20:30, so I had good time. Why leave so early then? First of all I though I’d spend some time in the city before I go see the show. Secondly, as I mentioned in my post about The eXperience 2007, I had won VIP tickets to Play!, but never received them, so I wanted to go  early and make sure everything was OK with my tickets. I left empty handed, with no way to prove that I had won VIP tickets. I left with my friends (who were promised VIP tickets as well).

When we got to the city, we found out that the new Mac OSX Leopard was to be released that same day at 18:00. This was a happy finding, but also one that tightened up our schedule as well. After cruising the city, we went to the consumer electronic show to find out what was up with our tickets, but got no further, and on top of that we had to leave if we were to make it to the release party of OSX Leopard. This gave us unfortunately just about half an hour at the electronic show, which later on I regretted so much missing out on. We just saw a fraction of what they had. Next year!

Anyway, back at the city we went to one of the Apple stores we knew of and ate APPLE CAKE! That was nice. We also got to try Leopard! It’s sweet! I wanted to buy it, but with to Mac, I’d have nothing to with it. Yet. Later we went to the other Apple store we knew of and celebrated there as well. There were quite some people at this event, both places, and I’m glad I were there. But again in our tight schedule, we had to go back to see Play! We met up with another friend that came later with a car, and then drove, but had LOTS of problems finding our way out of the city and to the show. Barely making it, we hurried inside and got our VIP tickets at the Play! Stand. We got these things we put on us, around our necks, that said we were VIP. How cool isn’t that?

As VIP we had our own place to go before, in the middle and after the show. Here we got to meet other VIP, crew, artist and other important people. This was a very exciting experience. We got food and drinks and chatted with other people. When the show started we got really good seats! 3rd row! The two first were reserved for super VIP people like artists, companies etc. There were a pause in the middle of the show where we went again to the VIP room and got food. The show lasted about two hours, I think. It was pure genius! I’ve never been to a happening like this before, and it surely wasn’t my last one. It was genius! So good music, with images from the games. I got the chills listening to it, especially the ending song, One Winged Angel from Final Fantasy! Other music song played were: World of Warcraft, Oblivion, The Legend of Zelda, Commodore 64 and Amiga, Halo, Sonic, Super Mario Bros, Guitar Hero and more. After the show we mingled again at the VIP room and got autographs to important people like the conductor, Arnie Roth, the vocalist in the Dreamfall song, which I do not remember her name, an amazing drum guy (Darabouka) named Rony Barrak, and from every member of Machinae Supremacy, which featured a few songs.

We stayed there pretty late and were almost the last to leave. I didn’t want to leave. I will never forget this evening at Play! and am already looking forwards to next year. When we finally left we had troubles again finding out way back home. I was extremely tired and though we would never get home at times. But we did, in the end, at about 04:30. I sllept the few hours I could and went to work at 10:00 later that day. About 4-5 hours of sleep.

Anyway, this day will stay in the remember book. I was just WOW. And I’m still tired, but aren’t I always that? I took pictures which I will post, I promise, a long with those from The eXperience 2007. I promise! And I think there are YouTube movies from the concert. Just search, and later on I will update this post with direct links to YouTube.

If you were there, please share your story! Thanks everybody!

Ubuntu 7.10

Ubuntu 7.10, also known as Gutsy Gibbon, has now arrived! Former ubuntu users can easily upgrade trough ‘Update Manager’. It has lots of improvement such as new version of Gnome, Compiz Fusion and dynticks, which makes the OS use less power. I’ve now intalled it, and it looks great! You should try it too! It’s better that 7.04. Anyway…

World Egg Day and the birth of Pavarotti

Today, the 12th october, is the world egg day! World Egg Day is a unique opportunity to help raise awareness of the benefits of eggs and is celebrated in countries all around the world. Egg is good! I like boiled eggs, fried eggs and omelets. More info here.

In other news, this day is also the day Luciano Pavarotti was born. He was a celebrated Italian tenor in operatic music, who successfully crossed into popular music becoming one of the most beloved vocal performers. Known for his televised concerts, media appearances, and as one of The Three Tenors, Pavarotti was also noted for his humanitarian work benefiting refugees, the Red Cross, and other causes. More about Pavarotti can be found here. Sadly he recently died, on the 6th september, 2007. He will be missed!

It appears that none of the links on the site are working! What happened? This means that you cannot comment this article, neither the other articles. I will get to the bottom of this, but I think this may have something to do with the fact that I reinstalled the database for wordpress. Who knows :P Until then, you’ll just have to keep waiting and live further on. The show must go on!

EDIT: The links are now working! Seems that all needed to be done was updaing the premalinks. But all my articles now lack a category. Oh…

TX07 Day 3&4

Yet another night went on my keyboard. Not comfortable. Anyhow, that day I spent the morning doing who knows, but time passed by quickly. I took another trip to the city, before hurring back for the show. I played in a few small competitions and then watched the show. First some dancers (from what would be the american ‘So you think you can dance’) and danced on the stage. Then Lene Alexandra had a mini-concert (Yes, she who sings the song ‘My boobs are OK’) and I had her latest single autographed, just for fun. And then we had a Miss Hardware competition where professional models came and catwalked. Each big firm had their own model, and Miss Netshop, also known as Miss Norway 2007, won the tittle Miss Hardware 2007.

But before the concert and everything, I addented at a competition at the stage, where my team was CCCP from World in Conflict. When CCCP won against NATO and USA (doing stupid exercises) it was Free For All inside the group for the first prize. And I won! I actually won first pirze! I won stuff worth $3700! Including four VIP tickets to Play! Symphony where I get backstage pass and meeting with important people, each ticket worth about $460. I also won two Guitar Hero games, four World in Conflict games plus t-shirts and a WoW BattleChest. Haven’t gotten anything yet, though, but this is the biggest prize I have ever won, and I’m so happy! That night I stayed almost all night. I also bought a new monitor, a Asus PG221! It’s very cool!

The next and final day, after just a few hours of sleep, I woke up and started packing. Since getting there my backage had grown with three or fours bags, plus one big box with the new monitor. I was quite tired and when I was finished packing, I slept until my ride arrived. The network closed down at 13:00, and I got out of there about 13:30. I slept most of the way back home. Next day at school was hard. But it was very fun. A true experience indeed, and I’m looking forwards fir TX08. I got to know a lot of people and had a blast, as they say it! Thanks everybody and see you next year!

TX07 Day 2

After a bad night on my keyboard, I woke up at atound 7 (am). I brushed my teeth and cheked todays program. Some of us went to the city with the subway to uy a few things, and it was a fun adventure finding our way from place to place. We were all kinda new to the subway here. We bought these small radio controlled helicopters, which are heaps of fun. Later that day I watched this introduction of Age of Conan, where the makers came here and introduced the game. This game is going to be HUGE! It’s genuis made. Pure brilliancy! And the makers of Crisys came, and naturaly I watched that too. That game looks awesome! And I tried it a little. I got to have these games!

Then there was a show with strong men doing strong things like carrying weights and stuff, followed by a wrestling match. I must addmit I didn’t watch the whole thing. Isn’t really my kind of stuff. I was tired all day, and still am. And now I am going to sleep on my keyboard again. Pictures will come up sometime!

The eXperience 2007

So I’, currently attending at The eXperience. What is that you ask? Well.. It’s not a computer party like The Gathering, but more of a show of technology, gaming and other stuff, including entertainement. Today, day , started out pretty slow. I woke up at 6 (am) and was driven to the capitol where The eXperience (XP for short) is held. And yet again, slow. I had to wait out 2 hours or more outside in the cold before we even could check-in. Then I had to take several trips to get everything inside. But once (when FINALY we were allowed inside), it was good. I put my system out and etc. I’ve met new people of who’m I sitt besides, new and interesting people, now friends. I’ve taken a few photos, seen the goods the stores has to offer, bought some stuff, got some free. The openingshow was not as spectacular as the one at TG, but if was nice. Time passed by, and just newly I found out that they had Guitar Hero III: Legend of the Rock here! And I tried it and it was genius! Tomorrow I’ll play some more and update once more. Let’s see what I get tomorrow (or buy)(or win). Who knows. Night.
